Retroverted Uterus Problems & Symptoms

RETROVERTED UTERUS : PROBLEMS , SYMPTOMS & EXPLANATION.

For understanding this condition, you need to get the idea behind a regular uterus. Basically, the uterus, in its original position, is inclined towards the belly, in a forward direction. A retroverted uterus is an opposite condition in which is tilted backwards and it points towards the rectum.

A retroverted uterus is a common condition which is known to be present in a quarter of women and you would find that usually, the pregnancy and associated conditions are not full of too many complications. Also, a retroverted uterus does not pose too many problems in a regular case and you would find that you might face some small problems only and nothing major can be noticed in case of a retroverted uterus



Usually, the ideal position of the uterus is above the bladder with the fundus pointing towards the abdominal wall. In case of the retroverted uterus, the fundus points towards the rectum and it is considered to be a normal variation with a woman’s body. However, there might be some associated disorders which may lead to some complications and the symptoms of  would be clearer in such cases. The most common disorder which accompanies this condition is endometriosis, and the symptoms that arise with this are detailed here. Retroverted uterus symptoms are composed of painful intercourse and it can be particularly severe in case of woman on top position. 



CAUSES 


1) Most of the times the reasons are hereditary

2) Some cases where women has undergone pelvic related operation
3) Endometriosis
4) Fibroids in uterus
5) Labor of child birth
6) Bulky uterus


SYMPTOMS


1) Severe pain in pelvic regions

2) Pain in uterus
3) Pain during intercourse


TREATMENT

2) Surgery

The most important retroverted uterus treatment is done by identifying the root cause of the problem and treating it gradually. This is important as sometimes, these underlying problems can transform into something extremely challenging. Secondly, there are some exercises which can help in this condition but usually, this does not work for severe cases and might tilt backwards again. 


Laparoscopic retroverted uterus treatment is also a preferable option as this can be done easily and with fair accuracy. For any kind of help, your gynecologist is the best person for initial consultation



Relation between Retroverted Uterus and Pregnancy 


Usually, there is no relation between retroverted uterus and pregnancy and you would find that most of the times, women with a retroverted   can have a perfectly normal delivery without any complications. Ideally, this does not interfere with a regular pregnancy and you would find that this condition goes away as soon as the pregnancy matures with time. After the initial 3 months, the uterus expands and comes out of the pelvis and stays in the regular forward tipper position for the remaining time of your pregnancy. However, in some cases, there might be a problem with the growth of uterus and the condition of incarcerated might arise. Therefore, it is important that you conduct initial tests and find out if you are having a uterus retroverted or not or not.


Diagnosing 


Since there might be some problems related with this, diagnosing this condition at the earliest is important for any woman. Usually, you would find that in case of retroversion, back pain is quite regular and you might even experience a lot of pain during intercourse. Some positions, like woman on top, can be extremely troubling for women with this condtition and if you notice any of such  symptoms, you should visit your doctor and go under a complete checkup. A routine pelvic examination is the basic step through which  can be diagnosed. Sometimes, the condition can be spotted through the means of a Pap test. What is important here is that you identify what is the underlying cause to the problem of it as this would be extremely important while treating this condition. Most of the times,  treatment would aim at resolving the cause of the condition.
